Did you go to Carey's 2025 Secret Fungi Festival? If you did, you’ll know how good it was..If you didn’t, then get the 2026 dates in your diary! 

Next year’s festival will be held between Fri 23rd - Sun 25th of October and promises to be even better than this year.

The Secret Fungi festival is not your average gathering, it's a full-blown celebration of all things fungi, from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

What was so good about this year?

The weather was great, we saw many more people attend this year, joining fungi foraging walks and mushroom growing workshops. The basket weaving was mega popular again as was the Forage and Feast workshops held by Christian at Urban Forage.

A massive thank you to Head Chef Alex of Thirteen for his exCEPtionally lovely soup and curried mushroom samosas. The Mushroom Marquee was brimming with lovely items and the finds table which was carefully curated by Chris at Mycopunks was a highlight!

Carey's Secret Fungi Festival is a place where mushroom enthusiasts and curious souls alike gather to revel in the wonders of the fungal kingdom.

Why Attend 2026?

Why should you attend Carey's festival, you ask? Well, for starters, where else can you witness so many mycophiles in one event!? We have more evening activities planned for 2026 with more UV night walks and wild foraged banquets. All your favourites walks and workshops will be back plus a few special extras!

What to Expect

You can participate in mushroom foraging expeditions, guided by expert mycologists who will teach you how to distinguish between a Morel and Maitake. And let's not forget about the popular cooking demonstrations, learn how to whip up delectable mushroom dishes that will have your taste buds dancing. We hope to have the truffles back again, with demonstrations and discussions about finding truffles in the wild. There’s stuff for little ones, there’s stuff for bigger ones, freshly brewed medicinal mushroom beverages, Art studio with workshops and don’t forget the reclaimed barn where we held space for all manner of fascinating topics around fungi.
