Native Hericium erinaceus - JCMD040 (Lions Mane) Liquid Culture

 10ml of Lions Mane liquid culture, complete with a 16g prick & IPA wipe.

This culture was obtained from a wild fruiting body, found on the Dorset/Devon border. We were contacted by an individual who had found a mushroom they were unsure of, on the floor at the base of a Beech tree. Unsure what they had found, they posted on social media to get an ID. Jurassic Coast Mushrooms was made aware of the local discovery and also the finder’s concern with this mushroom, rotting on the floor. They sent us a small sample, hopeful we could preserve the genetics of this exceptionally rare species. We cleaned up the culture through a series of transfers and have now successfully fruited this species a number of times. This local native strain is now preserved within our native culture library.

This native Lions Mane produces lovely crisp white, dense closely-clustered fruits. Again appreciating plenty of FAE to ensure a nice fruiting, with little sign of bruising and a great taste!
